We are very excited to invite you to our return to In-Person Worship this Sunday, September 13th!
We will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall, with assigned seats, so it is very important that you email me if you are planning to attend.
Drive-in-Worship will continue for those who wish to remain in their cars and listen to the service on the radio.
Worship will begin at 9:30am—but we are suggesting that we begin arriving at around 9:20am so that everyone will be in their places by 9:30.
PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED EPWORTH UMC PLAN FOR RETURNING TO IN-PERSON SERVICES IN ITS ENTIRETY FOR THE FULL DETAILS OF HOW THE PROCESS WILL WORK.
Below you will find the rules and requirements set up by the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church for both In-Person and Drive-In Worship.
BASIC RULES FOR IN PERSON WORSHIP ARE AS FOLLOWS:
All members must wear mask at all times. No Exceptions. If someone can’t keep their mask on they’ll be ask to leave. We’re not allowed to provide mask so please make sure to bring them
Please park in the “front” parking lot (closest to Rt 122) unless you will be using the ramp to enter.
The parking lot volunteers will escort each car load of people to the entry doors with all members wearing mask, maintaining at least six feet between the volunteer and the group or individual. Please remain in your car until your escort directs you to proceed to the entrance.
Everyone will continue following social distancing guidelines
There will be no singing allowed.
All persons attending must bring a completed Healthcare form with them each week.
Everyone attending need to print out the Bulletin Chris sends out each week and bring it with you. Chris also asks if you can let her know you’re coming in advance via email.
All persons will have their temperatures checked before entry and will not be allowed in if above 100.4 Degree F.
Anyone that has had two or more symptoms of Covid 19 in the past two weeks or has knowingly been in contact with an infected person will not be allowed to attend.
Anyone not feeling well needs to stay home
Bathrooms are for emergency usage only and must be cleaned after every use
All members will have assigned seats they need to use each week
If all goes as planned the only thing a large part of our congregation will come in contact with are their assigned chairs
For anyone requiring use of the entry step handrails we’ll be disinfecting between each use
We will be using Pre-Packaged Communion that will be placed on a table at the exit doors to take with you as you leave
Offering will be placed in a receptacle placed at the exit doors as you leave
A group of members got together and performed the first cleaning in preparation of the first Service this coming Sunday. Going forward, cleaning of the Fellowship Hall, Bathrooms and Office will be performed on a weekly basis. Mike Roberts will provide instructions to Melissa Toney.
DRIVE-IN –WORSHIP REQUIREMENTS
¨ RESTROOMS AVAILABLE ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY.
¨ No one should leave their vehicles for any reason while at the Drive-In Worship service. Participants (other than worship leaders) should be in the cab of their vehicles at all times. No sitting on vehicles or in the beds of trucks. No lawn chairs or blankets.
¨ Everyone, including volunteers, staff, and clergy must follow physical distancing at all times. That means everyone must stay at least 6 feet away from each other. Everyone attending worship should have a mask on hand in the event of an emergency situation.
¨No playground will be open.
¨No bulletins will be given out; they will be emailed to everyone on Friday.
¨ Park in every other spot. There must be a spot open on the left and right of your vehicle.
¨ Other than dropping offering into a receptacle provided by a volunteer standing 6 feet from the vehicle, (for instance, with a bucket on a broomstick), there will not be any exchange of anything between those members and guests in their cars and the volunteers, staff, and clergy.
¨Persons who are sick, should stay home.
¨ Plan for the enforcement of these requirements. Churches that offer drive-in worship without helping all persons abide by them face extra liability.
The “Ushers” will direct traffic out at the end of the service.
